Because My Mother Requested a Blog

Summer is here and it's humid,
Will I survive? I'm taking bids.
My hair is now uncontrollable,
My skin.....inconsoable.
I wish I could be in England spending quids!

Check Out My Rack!

My ski racks have become obsolete since moving to Florida. But don't worry, I have found a new use for them: boogie boards. Now I don't have to be the girl driving the car with ski racks on the beach!

Easter

I just love Easter. In reality I love all holidays, they just make me so happy.
We had a great Easter. I was upset about not getting to participate in the Page family Easter Egg Hunt this year (I held the record for oldest participant, I assume Brianna took it this year) however this year I got my own personal Easter Egg Hunt (it is pretty embarrassing to have everyone watching you hunt for eggs.)
The weather was amazing and we got to play outside! We played corn husking, or as normal people call it bean bag toss and bocce ball. Due to Liljenquist competitiveness, I can see some very long and therefore very boring tournaments emerging from this.
All in all an excellent Easter. Although next year I hope I will have some competitors in the Easter Egg Hunt.

Yes this is how Trevor's hair really looks, a whole post on that to follow! Another interesting fact on Trevor, this was the first time we have seen him in anything other than sport shorts the whole time we have been here. It was an Easter miracle!

But Your So Old

Last night something amazing happened. The Beach Boys and John Stamos were in town and decided to sing to me... after I bought a ticket and fought my way through the crowds.

They performed at Universal Studios as part of the Mardi Gras concert series. There was even a Mardi Grad parade where Kevy won me lots of beads. Please don't ask how.

All, 1 1/2, of the currently living Beach Boys were there. They were looking, as my Grand father would say, "very mature." How they still managed to hit all those high notes, I'll never know. Falsetto has never been my thing, thankfully that doesn't stop me from singing along.

You're in for a treat: you can hear both Kevin and I singing in this one.

John Stamos or Uncle Jessie, as I like to call him, was so fantastic. The crowd around me didn't seem to hold the same appreciation. There is always one annoying person at a concert, and I am afraid last night it was me. Only because the crowd around us was literally DEAD. The guy next to me didn't even blink! I didn't let that ruin my fun, I still danced, sung and screamed my heart out. And Katie (a fellow and devout "Full House" and "Jessie and The Ripers" fan) I took these shots of Uncle Jessie just for you, ENJOY!
(NB - A year or so ago Kevin let me chose our Rock Band name and I chose: Kevy and The Knickers. Need I say more?)

Katie I accidentally turned it off when I was trying to zoom in (blame enthusiasm), see below for the remaining 2 mins of Uncle Jessie singing. Everyone else has permission to skip.)

So I tried to film this "mature" couple a million times, but could never quite get it timed right with the lights. They swayed together the whole night. When I'm that old, I hope Kevin and I will be swaying and singing along at a Miley Cyrus concert.

Kevin gets full credit for the blog title. First person to name that movie wins a packet of gum! (And Michelle, you can hold me to that.)

A Pain In My Rear End

On monday afternoon I was in a slight fender bender. The driver behind me found it difficult to hit the break and decided to use my car to stop. The car hit me enough to push me into the car in front of me and then into the car in front of that car. The best part of this 4 car pile up, all 4 drivers were women. There is nothing more satisfying then living up to your stereotype!
The poor Rav has seen better days. My car has lost about 5 inches in length, and considering it wasn't very big to start with, that 5 inches hurts.
I took my car in this week to get repaired and was given the choice of 5 rental cars. Four were very boring sedans, and then there was my choice:
It makes me so happy to think as I am driving along, that a child/teenager/adult in a passing car is hitting their fellow passengers yelling "punch buggy." My selfless choice of car rentals is bringing so much joy to others. And to be honest, it is pretty fun to drive.

Unemployment

Unemployment although has some serious downsides, it allows me to pick up and take off to Utah for a week to hang out with my mum and go to my cousin's wedding. And when it comes to things such as that, unemployment suits me just fine.
We crammed in as much shopping, eating, family time and fun as possible in a 6 day period.
Like our outfits? My mum just whipped those up one day when she was feeling bored. Ain't no thang.

We got to go snow-showing with my mum's cousin Michelle, and I got to learn all the family secrets. Or mainly the fact that my Great-Grand-pa Davis was possibly the coolest G-pa ever: "Damn compressed sea foam" (I've always been under the impression that it is OK to curse, as long as you blame it on G-pa Davis)
My Uncles took us to the shooting range where we discovered, we city girls have good aim.
I am currently torn between trying to actually find a job or staying unemployed and taking a trip home.... it really is a tough choice.

Video Killed The Radio Star

For those of you who watch the Bachelor (Dani recognized this broad-walk from the show in a matter of seconds)
