What do you call a Fish with no I?

It's safe to say, I hate fishing. So when I mentioned to Kevin that I would go fishing with him, before I could even say: "Bob's your uncle", I had my very own fishing pole and fishing license. Points to Kevin for Carpe Temporis Punctum (Seizing the moment. I took three years of Latin, no big)

We quickly discovered that Bait fishing is not for me. I've never been good at sitting or being quiet, and if I have to do both at the same time, there's going to be trouble! (My dad will be the first to agree with this.) However, I almost enjoyed myself with the style of fishing where you constantly cast and reel.

Below is an example of the perfect cast and the biggest hair:

After two hours of fishing (I have absloutely no idea how I lasted that long), I can safely say that Jordanelle Resvoir is fresh out of fish, because I didn't catch a thing!

Oh and if you want the answer to the joke, you need to ask me in person. As it is very lame in writing. If you would really like to hear the joke told well, you should probably speak to Michelle. She has mastered stealing my jokes and telling them better then me.

Staycation

Knowing that our time in Utah is coming to an end, we have decided that we need to take full advantage of the beauty that is Utah.

Our first Staycation was to the Arches. This time we ventured for something slightly more foreign....Midway! There is nothing better than Mini Switzerland for a weekend getaway.
Our Swiss days went as follows:
- Chess: knee high pieces essential. (Everyone is taller in Switzerland)

- Wining: The winner always has to be the person closest to Scandinavian decent, (ergo, I had to forfeit my right to dominate kevy in chess.....stupid brown hair)

- Swimming/Steam Rooming/Hot Tubbing - no photographic evidence. (The Swiss worry about their technology.)
- Hiking - The goal here is to make as little effort as possible in your appearance, but yet to still look gorgeous (due to German genes I was unable to achieve this one, and holding a very tall stick didn't offer as much distraction as I had hoped!)
- Games: the Swiss loves the Olympic Games. They are tall, blonde, gorgeous and very athletic. Being only one and a half of these things (you decide which) I struggled with this activity.

- Evidence - find the only evidence that Midway, was in fact settled by actual Swiss and not an architect from Disneyland. (For examples of how "Disney meets Switzerland" looks, please visit: http://www.zermattresort.com/site/index.html)

Arches Part II

First person who names this movie wins a prize:

The License Plate Arch (aka The Delicate Arch)

Who hikes barefoot...weirdo.

Freestyle walking (I always thought I looked cool doing this, but upon seeing the video clip, my eyes have been opened. This however shall not stop me from continuing!)

Creepy Indians/hippies ....possibly the person hiking barefoot? Listen for the medivial music!

Witches Face!

Kevy loves the camera, he is just drawn to it!

The (non-golden) Arches

This weekend Kevy and I went down to Moab to enjoy the natural beauty that is Utah. It was the number one item on our list of things to do before we leave Utah (T-minus 3 1/2 months)

Trying to live life with more spontaneity (apparently my organization isn't always appreciated) we drove down to Moab with no plans whatsoever (we know how to live life on the edge!) After one hour of driving from one end of Moab Main street to the other, looking for somewhere to stay, AND not one person appreciating my "any room at the inn?" joke (maybe they have heard it before???) we managed to get the very last room in Moab!

We had a great weekend of hiking and arch sight seeing. Here are a few of our favourite things from the weekend:

Renaming Rocks
We loved renaming all the rocks, who ever named them seriously needed our help!

Pharaoh Rock

Irate Man

The Arches

Due to frustration of loading pictures this post is ending now! More later....maybe

Cori... I'm Sorry

Kevy and I got to visit The Pages in Wyoming for not only fun and good Country times, but also to enjoy the wonderful world of dentistry!

They took us out on their horses, and Cori I am ashamed to say, I was terrible. Personally, I blame the horse, but it is clearly my inability to control large animals. I hope this summer we can go out on a hack and you can teach me a thing or two! With your skills and abilities I'll be doing jumps in no time. The video below makes it more than clear that you have your work cut out for you.

Rookie

My birthday was the much needed catalyst to break in the Cake Rookie. As it turns out Kevy has never made a cake before (...I know!)

Apparently, as I had until recently believed, cake does not fall under essential-cooking-must-knows.

As all good cake makers know creativity is the key. Tealights certainly earn some serious creative points - clearly Kevy was going for creative, and did not in fact forget to buy candles!

All in all I was very impressed. Next year Mum's homemade 3 layer cake!

23 and Wrinkle Free

I do love a birthday, especially when it is mine! This year my birthday presents would disappoint any modern day suffragette. But in my opinion I can still have my rights and be the fairer sex, and it is never too early to prepare for being the perfect housewife (I'm aiming for Stepford)

My new iron is amazing. I can finally stop going to work wrinkly, and start turning up perfectly crisp every morning. As fun as ironing can be, especially when it steams, I am glad Kevin wears sweats to work...excuse me, athletic wear.

Along with my now wrinkle free wardrobe, I will be able to make homemade pasta, which has to taste at the very least, ten times better then dry pasta. I most have mentioned my mum's homemade pasta one too many times, as Kevin purchased me my very own pasta maker.

So if you are feeling peckish or have a stubborn crease you know where to go!

In my personal opinion one is never too old for a princess balloon especially when it sings! At the request of the poor under-privileged English who have never seen a signing balloon, I have attached a demonstration of how the balloon works (the dancing just couldn't be stopped....everytime I played it....which has been a lot)

(Shelly & Cori - please note I'm wearing the hairbrand, I have embraced your advice and loving life!)
