My birthday was the much needed catalyst to break in the Cake Rookie. As it turns out Kevy has never made a cake before (...I know!)
Apparently, as I had until recently believed, cake does not fall under essential-cooking-must-knows.
As all good cake makers know creativity is the key. Tealights certainly earn some serious creative points - clearly Kevy was going for creative, and did not in fact forget to buy candles!
All in all I was very impressed. Next year Mum's homemade 3 layer cake!
