News Flash: I'm Amazing

We are officially in Florida and I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I'm amazing.
The reason for this is as follows:
We had to be in Florida by Jan 4th, due to Kevin starting work. Seems simple enough, until you get stuck in England for an extra couple days, meaning you have to pack up and leave Phoenix roughly 12 hours after you touched down. Thankfully I am "overly organized" and had most things packed before.
So with all things in tow, plus a serious amount of jet-leg we set out for Houston where we spent two days with Dani & TJ; celebrating New Years (by going to bed) and also our anniversary. Being in the middle of a cross-country move was exactly how I pictured our first anniversary! Thankfully Dani & TJ know how to spoil and we were taken out for the best Mexican breakfast burritos, dinner with TJ's family and then Tres Leches, where we were serenaded by a single guitarist!
The drama commenced again on our last leg from Houston to Florida. Kevy's alternator decided to die, and we were rescued by some of the nicest people ever (accompanied by a valuable lesson on judgement) and then his tire popped on the freeway, as he was pulling a U-Haul. Which would be fine if this didn't all happen late at night in the freezing cold and prolonged our trip by about 6 hours.
If you think I am amazing for surviving that, you will be even more impressed when I tell you that I drove my own car behind Kevy's for 40 hours and 2100 miles....ALL BY MSELF. Yes, it's true I'm amazing. It may have taken me a week to recover, but by george I did it. Now proving I can do anything! Although I have made Kevin promise me, that I will never have to do that again.

We have enjoyed our first couple weeks here, and have just been settling in. We went to Kevin's best friend from High School's wedding, and I actually had fun! Generally I hate weddings and don't find them enjoyable (no offense Danielle. Although I may have enjoyed yours, if I wasn't so mad at TJ....clearly all TJ's fault)
We are excited for the prospects ahead of us in Florida and can't wait for people to come visit, even if they are using us to go to Disney.

I agree with you - you are amazing!! -- either that or foolish for driving so far on your own. Next time - listen to your mother.

I can't believe there aren't any photos of your rescuers?!!!

Wow Nicole you are totally awesome. And now we are both living our lives with no friends in towns that we are lost in. :) kind of like pioneer women. your great grandchildren will tell stories about that trek across the country. and they will make their kids re-enact it.
Anyway. i will shamelessly use you to go to Disney.
