Savannah, GA; birthday place of Julliet Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts, saw the true meaning of the scouting program this past weekend.
On a typical Saturday during Girl Scout Cookie season, young Girl Scouts can be found on the corner of Mrs Gordon Low's birthday place, selling their many flavors of delicious Girl Scout Cookies. As a young, handsome tourist couple strolled through the dreamy Savannah streets towards this corner they were not met with smiling young faces hoping to be the best seller this year but by a sea of worried eyes not knowing what to do.
Minutes before a local lady decided that having waited over a year for Girl Scout Cookie season she just had to have some Samoas. She pulled off the side of the road, leaving her car running with money in hand to quickly buy the much sought after cookies. In her desperation to taste the delicious coconut, she realized she had locked herself out of her car.
As the aforementioned young, handsome tourist couple approached, the wife quickly surmized the situation and pointed out to the now small crowd that her husband was an Eagle Scout and had his burglarizing badge. No time was wasted, a coat hanger was quickly placed into the young man's hands and he was ushered towards the running station wagon. Within less than 2 minutes the handsome hero had opened the door. The crowd was joyous. Several praises to the heavens and plenty of hugs were shared.
Without much further ado the lady grabbed her cookies and drove off with a gentle toot of the horn and a friendly wave, leaving the crowd to stand on thinking of the true meaning of the scouting program, and also wondering if their own cars were safe as the tourist hero had gotten into the car a little too quickly.
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

Kevy saves the day!
(There isn't really a burglarizing badge, right?)
woohoo! Way to go, Kevy. Nicole, you should go into journalism- but just the sarcastic or ironic kind. I'm sure there's some great stories in Oviedo just waiting to be covered.
