Visitors

Kevin and I were lucky enough not to get just one visitor but two last week! My Dad came out to see me and Shelly flew out for her birthday weekend. Having visitors helps me remember that Florida really is quite amazing!!
It was Shelly's 20th - party poppers just felt right.

JB's Fish Camp, where the people watching was fantastic and the fish delicious.

Paddleboarding! We even got to see a dolphin.

I really like celebrating birthdays, so sneaking sparklers and a lighter in my bag to eat ice cream in the park was obviously the right thing to do.

Dear Old Antonio hooked us good seats. He didn't tell us about his finders fee until after we had sat down.

We love BBQ!!

Air boat ride.

We picked up Shelly just 15minutes before her birthday.

Love me some shrimp. It was Royal Red season = heaven.

Just a little something I whipped up at the beach.

Dad love riding the beach cruisers up and down the beach.

We discovered Cuban food is super delicious.

The Orlando Wetlands.....proof that swamps can be pretty.

The gators hang out about 3 feet from the trail - waiting for any ankles that get just a little too close.

Home Office

I'm pretty jealous that Kevin gets to work from home. But it does lead me to constantly wondering if he actually works.
I think this answers that question:

Daytona Speedway Race

This weekend Kevin and I got to take part in our first Daytona Speedway Race. Unfortunately we had to run it using our legs and not the fancy Porsches and Ferraris that were parked every 5 feet.

"I only follow the Ferrari's"
We had a pace car lead us out. Pretty cool.
I'm smiling despite the fact that the announcer totally just stole the line I was dying to use "Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines"
Running in full fireman getup - impressive. Not wanting to firelift me across the finish line - not impressive.

To clarify - that wasn't our finishing time!

The embankment turns are super steep (seriously this video makes it look easy, trust me it wasn't.) People would stop to walk up them. Since Kevin feels the need to be better than those around him, he chose to run up the turn. I wish I could have caught all the reactions to this video. Everyone was like "Do you see that guy" - "check out that guy" - "That guy is amazing" Of course I had to get on the bandwagon and make sure I got my 5 seconds of fame.
Kevin's dump valve sound effects are a lot better than mine, so we decided to just let him do the overtaking.

Ice Ice Baby

When Kevin and I showed up to go the Ice show we were a little confused why everyone had hats, scraves and gloves on. For some reason the fact we were going to see an Ice show and that it may be cold, didn't seem to occur to us. Thankfully they supplied coats and we braved the 8 degree display.

The Theme this year was Shrek the Halls. Who would have guessed that you could dye ice?

An slide made of ice... yes please!

The Nativity it so much cooler in ice.

Time for Hot Chocolate!

Instagram Killed the Blogger Star

With my new love for Instagram I have lost interest in my blog. Instagram takes 30seconds, blogging on the other hand is time consuming. These things take me a solid 5 minutes. Who has time for that?

So here is Christmas in a nut shell: We went to Houston to see Baby Wells (who I am completly in love with) ate way too much amazing food and was spoilt by the parents!

Cuddle time is the best time.

I still don't understand why he didn't like the stocking?

The oven mitt.

Kevin's favourite breakfast restaurant, in America, possibly the world. We ate there 3 times in the span of 5 days. That's just embarrassing.

Everyone loves go karting!!

Rolling in the tickets. So glad we won a special slinky for Shelly's boyfriend!

A restaurant dedicated to mac and cheese - who could say no?

Mum is still the best bowler in the family.

New Pjs!

I will probably get in trouble for posting this picture. But good news Cori - BYU offers free counselling!!!

Baby Wells loves forehead kisses, hates been blown on and has already choosen a favourite aunt....

New Orleans

I've been wanting to go to New Orleans ever since the Princess and the Frog came out (don't judge me.)
And this Christmas my dream of eating bengints with a Prince (gag?) was granted.

Don't judge my hair and lack of make-up - we left our house at midnight.

They load the bengints up with a small mountain of powder sugar. It's impossible to eat without making a complete mess.

You would be walking along looking at all the beautiful buildings and than BAM a voodoo store.

Voodoo dolls of every size! I wasn't allowed in the store. Typical.
Waiting in the longest line ever for bengints

New Orleans has the best balloon artist in the world. I would have personally preferred Donatello, but Raphael isn't too shabby.

Since I will never ever be allowed to go to Mardi Gras (having a husband is sometimes like having a 3rd parent) - figured this guy (yes guy) and my mask below would be the closest I would ever get.

These guys are the Dragon Masters - you may know them from America's Got Talent. Since they are still dancing on the streets, my guess is, they didn't win. They did lots of really impressive stuff, but this is my fav. It's called the helicopter, and could possibly be one of my goals for 2012.
